Meet the Therapist
You've found me!
Hi I'm Dr. Traci Bitondo, and you can scroll down for my credentials and experience- but for now, I want to tell you a little about myself. I'm empathetic, caring, and truly believe that all of my clients have the strength needed to get through whatever challenge is placed before them. I believe my role in therapy is to guide, support, and witness. I treat my office like my living room and encourage my clients to be comfortable- because if you're not comfortable with me and my space, how can I expect you to be comfortable with trusting me during the extremely difficult process that is therapy. I look forward to taking the journey of healing with you!
I've been practicing for over 15 years and have worked in a variety of settings. I have a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision and a Masters degree in Counseling with a specialization in Art Therapy. I'm a lifelong learner I am always training and learning new ways to do this work; because of that I hold quite a few licenses and credentials. I'm Licensed Professional Counselor (NJ #37PC00575700), a Licensed Professional Art Therapist (NJ # 16LP00002500), a Board Certified and Registered Art Therapist, an Approved Clinical Supervisor, and an Art Therapy Certified Supervisor, a Nationally Certified Counselor, and a NJ Certified Disaster Response Crisis Counselor.
I find that I do this work best while I'm engaged in the community around me. As such, you'll find me volunteering for the New Jersey Art Therapy Association as the President of their Board of Directors, doing research at the University I teach at (I also teach graduate students in counseling and art therapy), and presenting at the local and national level on topics that interest me and can improve the field.
